Selection Procedure - CSIR-CMERI Technician Recruitment 2026

• Stage 1 – Screening: Applications will be screened by the committee to shortlist eligible candidates.
• Stage 2 – Trade Test: Shortlisted candidates will appear for a Trade Test in their respective trade. This test will be qualifying in nature.
• Stage 3 – Competitive Written Examination: Candidates who qualify the Trade Test will be called for a written exam consisting of three papers:
  • Paper I – Mental Ability Test (50 questions, 100 marks, no negative marking)
  • Paper II – General Awareness & English Language (50 questions, 150 marks, negative marking applicable)
  • Paper III – Concerned Subject (50 questions, 150 marks, negative marking applicable)
• Final Merit List: Prepared based on marks obtained in Paper II and Paper III only.
• Tie Resolution: As per CSIR guidelines dated 30.05.2023.
