Eligibility Criteria - NBT Recruitment 2026

Educational Qualification	Graduation in any discipline is mandatory. Master’s Degree in English or relevant Regional Language is preferred. For Assistant Editors (English/Comics/Graphic Books): MA (English)/M.Phil desirable. For Editorial Assistants (Regional Languages): Master’s in specified language desirable.
Experience	Assistant Editors: 3–4 years’ proven experience in manuscript evaluation, commissioning, copyediting, and proofreading. Editorial Assistants: Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in publishing/editing depending on post. Special expertise in conceptualizing, visualizing, scripting, and editing comics/graphic/pictorial books preferred. Knowledge of Adobe PageMaker, InDesign, DTP composing, and typesetting is an added advantage.
Age Limit	Assistant Editors: Maximum 40 years. Editorial Assistants (English – Comics/Graphic Books): Maximum 35 years. Editorial Assistants (Regional Languages): Maximum 40 years. Relaxations applicable as per Government of India rules.
