Eligibility Criteria – NCERT Teaching Recruitment 2026

Post Qualification & Requirements
Professor Ph.D. in relevant discipline with a strong record of published research. Minimum 10 years of teaching/research experience in university/college or national institutions. Evidence of guiding doctoral candidates and contributing to academic innovation.
Associate Professor Ph.D. in relevant discipline with a Master’s degree (55% marks minimum). At least 8 years of teaching/research experience equivalent to Assistant Professor. Minimum 7 publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals and a research score of 75.
Assistant Professor Master’s degree with 55% marks in relevant subject. Must have cleared NET/SET/SLET or hold a Ph.D. as per UGC regulations. Candidates registered for Ph.D. before July 11, 2009 may be exempted from NET if conditions are met.
Deputy Librarian Master’s in Library/Information/Documentation Science with 55% marks. Minimum 8 years of experience as Assistant University Librarian/College Librarian. Ph.D. in Library/Information Science and evidence of innovative library services including ICT integration.
Assistant Librarian Master’s in Library/Information/Documentation Science with 55% marks. Consistently good academic record and knowledge of computerization of libraries. Must have cleared NET/SET/SLET or hold a Ph.D. as per UGC regulations.

Note: Relaxation in marks for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD candidates is applicable as per UGC/GOI/NCERT rules. Age of retirement and service conditions follow Government of India norms.
