UPSSSC ASO ARO Recruitment 2026 Apply Online for 929 Assistant Statistical & Research Officer Posts by 11 May 2026

Note: Eligibility must be fulfilled by the last date of application (11 May 2026). Candidates under provisional or under-investigation status in PET 2025 will be allowed to apply, subject to final UPSSSC decisions.

Note: The distribution covers both Assistant Statistical Officer (ASO) and Assistant Research Officer (ARO – Statistics) posts. PwD reservations are applied horizontally across categories as per Uttar Pradesh Government rules.

1. Visit the UPSSSC official website.
2. Login using your PET 2025 registration number and OTP/password credentials.
3. Navigate to the ASO/ARO Recruitment 2026 section and click on “Apply Online.”
4. Fill in personal, educational, and category details carefully, selecting the preferred post (ASO or ARO).
5. Upload scanned copies of required documents (educational certificates, PET 2025 scorecard, caste/EWS certificate, ID proof).
6. Verify all entered information before proceeding to payment.
7. Pay the application fee online via Debit/Credit Card, Net Banking, UPI, or SBI e‑challan.
8. Submit the application form and download/print the confirmation page for future reference.
9. Keep a copy of the fee receipt and application number safe for admit card download and further correspondence.

Note: Applications must be submitted online only. Incomplete forms or unpaid fees will not be accepted. Candidates should apply well before the last date (11 May 2026) to avoid last‑minute technical issues.

• Educational certificates (Mark sheets and Degree of Graduation/Postgraduation in Statistics/Mathematics or related field)
• Category/Reservation certificate (SC/ST/OBC) issued by competent authority, if applicable
• EWS certificate (valid for FY 2025–26, if applicable)
• Valid PET 2025 scorecard issued by UPSSSC
• Government ID proof (Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, PAN Card, Driving License, or Passport)
• Domicile certificate of Uttar Pradesh (if claiming state reservation benefits)
• PwD certificate (if applicable, issued by authorized medical board)
• Recent passport-size photographs (scanned copy as per specifications)
• Signature (scanned copy in prescribed format)

Note: All documents must be uploaded in the prescribed format and size during the online application process. Originals will be verified at later stages of recruitment.

Note: The exam will be conducted in objective (MCQ) format. Negative marking may apply for wrong answers as per UPSSSC rules. The detailed syllabus and marking scheme will be provided in the official notification and admit card.

1. Shortlisting through PET 2025: Candidates must have appeared in PET 2025. Normalized PET scores will be used to shortlist eligible applicants for the Main Examination.
2. Main Examination: Shortlisted candidates will appear for the ASO/ARO written exam (200 marks, objective type). The exam will test Statistics, General Knowledge, Hindi/English, and Reasoning.
3. Document Verification: Candidates qualifying the written exam will be called for verification of educational certificates, PET scorecard, category certificates, and other required documents.
4. Final Merit List: Prepared based on performance in the Main Examination and successful document verification. Reservation rules will be applied as per Uttar Pradesh Government norms.
5. Appointment: Selected candidates will be appointed as Assistant Statistical Officer or Assistant Research Officer (Statistics) in UP Government departments.

Note: The selection process is strictly merit‑based. Candidates are advised to prepare thoroughly for the Main Examination and ensure all documents are valid and up to date before verification.
