1. Download the official application form from the DRDO website or use the annexure provided in the notification PDF.
2. Carefully fill in all required details including your name, chosen discipline, college/university, academic record up to 3rd year 1st semester, date of birth, and valid email ID.
3. Affix a recent passport-size photograph (4.5 cm x 3.5 cm) on the form and sign it to validate your application.
4. Obtain a sponsorship or referral letter from your college Principal, printed on official letterhead with seal and contact details.
5. Secure a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Principal confirming your availability for the six-month internship and attendance of at least 15 days per month.
6. Attach self-attested copies of essential documents: Aadhar Card, College ID, Bonafide Certificate, and academic marksheets up to 3rd year 1st semester.
7. Clearly superscribe the envelope with: “Application for Paid Internship with [Discipline]” mentioning the exact discipline applied for.
8. Send the completed application by post to:

9. Ensure that your application reaches DIPAS on or before 15 May 2026. Late or incomplete submissions will not be considered.

1. Merit Shortlisting: Candidates are initially ranked based on their aggregate marks or CGPA up to the 3rd year 1st semester. Higher scores in each discipline receive preference.
2. Interaction Stage: Shortlisted applicants may be invited for a physical interview at DIPAS Delhi or an online interaction, depending on requirements.
3. Document Verification: Selected students must present original documents including sponsorship letter, NOC, bonafide certificate, and academic marksheets at the time of joining.
4. Police Verification: A valid police verification certificate is mandatory before the internship appointment can be confirmed.
5. Final Joining: Successful candidates will be notified only through the email address provided in their application. The internship is scheduled to begin on 1 July 2026.
6. Tie-Breaker Rule: If two candidates secure identical marks, the elder candidate (based on date of birth) will be given preference. No communication will be sent to those who are not selected.

No written exam. Selection based on merit and interaction.

The internship opportunities are offered at two premier DRDO research laboratories. Selected candidates may be placed at the Defence Institute of Physiology and Allied Sciences (DIPAS) in Delhi, which focuses on advanced physiological and biomedical research for defence applications. Alternatively, placements are available at the Defence Institute of Bio-Energy Research (DIBER) in Haldwani, Uttarakhand, known for its work in bio-energy and life sciences.

Applicants should be prepared to join at either location depending on the discipline applied for and the final selection outcome. Both centres provide a professional research environment, enabling interns to gain valuable exposure to defence-related projects while contributing to national scientific initiatives.
