Government Faculty & Teaching Jobs in India

Requirements differ by institution, but Assistant Professor posts generally need a Master’s degree with the prescribed minimum marks, plus UGC NET/SET/SLET or a PhD as per the applicable norms. IITs, IIMs, AIIMS and other institutes may set their own criteria, so check the recruitment notification.

Some institutes, such as those shown in the table above with two dates, require candidates to apply online first and then send a printed copy of the application with documents by a later date. Both steps must be completed on time, so check the notification for the exact procedure.

Qualifications depend on the level. Primary and middle-level posts generally need a diploma or degree in elementary education, while secondary-level posts generally need a graduate or postgraduate degree in the subject plus B.Ed. A TET or CTET qualification is commonly required. Read the notification for post-wise details.

Selection commonly includes screening of applications, a teaching demonstration or presentation, and an interview. State service commissions may also hold a written examination. The process is stated in each notification.

It varies. Some institutes charge a fee with concessions for reserved categories and PwBD candidates, while others charge none. Check the fee section of the notification before applying.

The open table lists recruitments whose last date had not passed on the date shown at the top of the page. Dates can be extended or changed, so always confirm on the official website before applying.
