Complete ROPA 2019 Pay Matrix (West Bengal Government)

• Caste/Category Certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS) issued by competent authority of West Bengal.
• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates must submit renewed/revalidated certificates before interview.
• EWS candidates must provide valid Income & Asset Certificate as per WB Govt. notification.
• PWD Certificate (≥40%) issued by a Government Medical Board; Appendix-I if opting for scribe.
• Meritorious Sportsperson Certificate (Form 1/2/3/4) signed by authorized sports bodies.
• Valid Photo ID proof (Passport, PAN, Voter ID, Driving Licence, or Govt. issued ID).
• Educational Qualification Certificates (Degree from recognized University).
• Proof of Date of Birth (Madhyamik or equivalent certificate).
• Recent passport-size photograph and scanned signature (as per WBPSC guidelines).
• Any other eligibility certificate if applicable (Nationality/Eligibility Certificate for non-Indian nationals).

💡 All certificates must be uploaded in PDF format (≤100 KB). Originals will be verified during document verification and interview.

1. Visit the WBPSC Official Portal.
2. Register/Login using valid credentials (new users must create an account).
3. Fill the online application form carefully with personal, educational, and category details.
4. Upload required documents in prescribed format (PDF ≤100 KB for certificates, JPG ≤50 KB for photo/signature).
5. Pay the application fee online (₹160 for General/OBC; SC/ST of WB & PwBD exempted).
6. Verify all details before submission; corrections allowed only during Edit Window (22–28 May 2026).
7. Submit the application form and download/print the confirmation page for future reference.
8. Keep the registered email ID and mobile number active for communication from WBPSC.

⚠️ Multiple applications by the same candidate are strictly forbidden and liable to cancellation. Ensure accuracy before final submission.

• Stage 1 – Preliminary Examination: Objective type MCQs with negative marking for wrong answers. Acts only as a qualifying screen; marks here do not contribute to the final merit list.
• Stage 2 – Final Examination: Conventional written papers conducted in Kolkata. Candidates may answer in English or Bengali (except language papers). Consistency of language is mandatory within each paper.
• Stage 3 – Personality Test: Conducted at WBPSC office, Kolkata. For candidates whose mother tongue is not Bengali/Nepali, a Bengali language proficiency check is included. Poor performance may lead to cancellation of candidature.
• Document Verification: Original certificates are verified to confirm eligibility, category, and identity.
• Medical Examination: Selected candidates must appear before a Government Medical Board to certify fitness for service.
• Antecedent Verification: Police authorities verify background before appointment. Any adverse report can cancel candidature.
• Qualifying Marks (Aggregate): UR/EWS – 40%, OBC (A & B) – 38%, SC – 35%, ST/PwBD – 30%. Only marks from the Final Examination and Personality Test are counted for merit ranking.

⚖️ The WBPSC follows a strict three‑stage process. Preliminary exam is only a filter, while the Final Examination and Personality Test together determine the merit list.

• Posting Areas: Selected candidates will be appointed across various districts of West Bengal, depending on administrative requirements and vacancy distribution.
• Examination Venues: Preliminary Examination will be conducted at multiple centres across West Bengal, including Kolkata, Howrah, Burdwan, Medinipur, Bankura, Purulia, Jalpaiguri, Siliguri, Kalimpong, Darjeeling, and others.
• Final Examination: All written papers will be held exclusively in Kolkata.
• Personality Test: Conducted at the WBPSC office in Kolkata.
• Transferability: Candidates may be transferred or posted to different districts within West Bengal during their service tenure, based on departmental needs.
